"I took on many appearances before I acquired my final form; I played in the night, I slept in the dawn."
"La Loba gardienne des memoires" is a play with shadows, dance and puppets, for all audiences from age 5 upwards.
The play unfolds like a journey through the language of shadows, in a universe of textures, atmospheres and shapes, through the senses and the intimate. It is a ritual that is both ancient and contemporary. Metamorphoses and symbols contribute to the poetic force of the story. A story that can be read on different levels, carried by the silhouettes and figures, the better to restore the imaginative and mythical aspects of the Human.
The links between movement, the body, choreography and shadow puppetry are very strong. The sign language seems simple, almost banal at times. But it is in communication with the universal: the body of the puppeteer - dancer takes on both transparency and a strong presence. This highlights the voice of the silhouettes, images and short, narrative poems. The magic of the puppetry guides the audience's attention towards a direct understanding of the different layers of meaning of the story, between and beyond the lines.
The story
In the form of which distant, buried, decisive souvenirs do stories emerge from memory? When they come back up to the surface, how do we transform them, so that they cease to be an obstacle to the soul's flight and instead feed its strength?
"A people is forced to leave their land. Uprooted, the men and women take to the road. Only the flame they are carrying preserves their identity, their cosmogony. But as the days pass and their journey progresses, the flame goes out. A mother gives her daughter a hybrid "wolf-spirit" doll. Under this guidance, the child meets strange creatures, each of whom has a secret. In the heart of the forest lives "she who changes": The she-wolf who is the guardian of memories. Watchful and protective, but also wild and unpredictable, she will help the child to come into his own and carry a new flame for the people".
